The Florida Department of Education recently released test scores in 14 subject areas relevant to our school (Language Arts, grades 6-10; Math, grades 6-8; Science, grade 8; and end of course exams in Biology, Algebra 1, Geometry, U.S. History and Civics.

CFLA gained more that 100 points in these 14 testing areas over last years’ scores. We outperformed the District on the majority of areas tested. We are very proud of our students and teachers who worked so hard to achieve this success.

While all of our departments did well, some items of significant note are the following:

Science – best scores ever for our school in both 8th grade science and Biology.

Math – 100% passing rate for 8th graders taking the Algebra 1 EOC – in fact over 90% of all 8th graders are now on or above grade level in math.

Language Arts – 25% of the students for whom we had the same scores for last two years made gains of two or more years (14+ points) this year.
