Title IX Statement of Non-Discrimination

Central Florida Leadership Academy is committed to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for all students, free from discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. We adhere to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in educational programs and activities.

CFLA abides by OCPS Title IX policies in regards to reporting, investigating and decision-making and deadlines. You can review OCPS Title IX polices at this link.

 

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for overseeing compliance with Title IX regulations, receiving and investigating reports of sex-based discrimination, and ensuring a prompt and effective response (within 10 days) to any Title IX concerns. Prohibited Conduct

Title IX prohibits discrimination and harassment based on sex, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sexual harassment

  • Sexual assault

  • Dating violence

  • Domestic violence

  • Stalking

  • Gender-based harassment

  • Retaliation against individuals who report Title IX violations

Reporting and Support

Any member of the school community who believes they have experienced or witnessed sex-based discrimination or harassment is encouraged to report it promptly to the Title IX Coordinator or any school staff member. Reports can be made in person, by email, or through the school's anonymous reporting system, FortifyFL.

Supportive measures, such as counseling, academic accommodations, and protective measures, may be provided to those involved in a Title IX complaint, as appropriate.

Investigation and Resolution

CFLA will promptly and impartially investigate all Title IX reports. The school will take appropriate action to address and remedy any violations of Title IX, which may include disciplinary actions against the responsible parties. The investigation process will be conducted in a fair and equitable manner.

Confidentiality

The school is committed to respecting the privacy and confidentiality of all parties involved in a Title IX investigation to the extent permitted by law.

Retaliation

Retaliation against anyone who reports a Title IX violation, participates in an investigation, or opposes discrimination is strictly prohibited and will be subject to disciplinary action.

Training and Education

CFLA is dedicated to preventing sex-based discrimination and harassment by providing ongoing training and education to students, faculty, and staff regarding Title IX and related topics.
